Privacy Policy

App: Timely — Expiry Tracker · Last updated: 13 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Timely (“we”, “us”, the “App”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Timely mobile application. By using Timely you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account with an email address we collect your email address, a username / display name, and an encrypted password. This is used to sign you in and sync your data across your devices.

You can also sign in with Apple or Google. In that case the provider sends us a signed sign-in token containing your email address and, the first time you authorise the app, your name. We store only your email address and name — we never receive your Apple or Google password. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we only ever see the private relay address Apple generates for you, not your real one.

Content you add

We store the items you track and their details — for example item names, categories, expiry or renewal dates, locations, quantities, notes, and any photos or documents (PDFs/images) you choose to attach. Attachments are stored in a private, per-user storage bucket that only you can access.

Scanning, voice, and AI features

When you use the scan, voice, document upload, or AI features, the relevant content is sent to third-party AI providers to extract details or generate responses:

We do not use this content to train AI models, and it is transmitted only to provide the feature you requested.

Feature usage counts

The free plan includes a limited number of uses of each way of adding an item (photo scan, gallery scan, document upload, voice entry, and AI questions). To enforce those limits we store, against your account, a simple count of how many times you have used each of those features. These are counters only — they record that a feature was used, not what you scanned, said, or asked.

Onboarding answers

During the first-run setup you can tell us which categories you want to track and what you are trying to avoid wasting money on. If you answer, we save those choices to your profile so we can tailor your reminder defaults and show you relevant content. Both questions are optional and you can skip them.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat. We (and RevenueCat) receive your subscription status and a pseudonymous user identifier so we can unlock premium features. We never receive or store your full payment card details — those are handled entirely by Apple.

Diagnostics

To keep the App stable we use Sentry to collect crash reports and technical error data (such as device model, OS version, and the events leading to a crash). This does not include the contents of your tracked items.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, we store a push-notification token so we can send you expiry and renewal alerts. You can disable notifications at any time in Settings or your device settings.

Device permissions

Timely may request access to your camera (to scan items), photo library (to upload images/documents), and microphone & speech recognition (for voice input). These are used only for the features you activate, and you can grant or revoke them in your device settings.

2. How we use your information

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build advertising or marketing profiles about you. Timely contains no advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics or tracking services.

3. How your data is stored and protected

Your account and item data are stored using Supabase on servers located in the European Union (EU West). Access to your data is protected by per-user security rules so that you can only access your own content. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).

4. Third-party services

We share data only with the service providers needed to run the App, each acting on our behalf:

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the App (Profile → Delete account). Once deleted, your account, tracked items, and attachments are removed from our systems.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the App, or contact us using the details below.

7. Children

Timely is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
